This baby mobile was made to go with the colour block quilt we posted earlier this month.

From our experience, babies are more interested in mobiles that contain a combination of bold shapes and colours. Therefore we choose an easy star shape and decided to work with contrasting colours on each shape that are also used in the blanket. This way the quilt and mobile match well together and the baby is stimulated by the mobile (which benefits the parents as well). Continue reading

Elbow Patches


We all have our favourite sweater we do not get rid off even if it shows some serious signs of wear and tear. Well one of my friends had this problem with his blue cardigan. Both sleeves have rather large wholes at the elbows. He already purchased some ready made elbow patches but didn’t like any of them to match his sweater. So I offered to pimp his elbow patches. Father’s day

 

10th of June was father’s day in Belgium. As my boyfriend has been doing a great job since Lilly was born 6 weeks ago, he deserves a first father’s day gift. Now Lilly is still a bit to small to make something so I went and did it for her.

I used a blank romper (from Primark) and added the text I (heart) DAD in applique. See one of my previous posts for a tutorial on applique (click here). To secure the applique I roughly handstichted along the applique using embroidery thread in similar colours as tthe fabric.

Baby bibs and burp cloths

Only 17 days to go now until my due date so I am getting a bit itchy to have the Baby stuff done 🙂

I still had this great piece of fabric I bought in Ikea so I decided to make myself a little “on the road” package for the diaper bag. It consists of some bibs, burp cloths and of course a matching pouch to carry it around. Sounds a bit freaky
