A friend of ours recently gave birth to her second son. Because she already had all the baby stuff from her first son, I just asked her what DIY gift I could make. Turned out a mobile for Maxi Cosi would be useful and I got inspired by this white cloud mobile posted by the “Do Small Things with love” blog. Continue reading
This baby mobile was made to go with the colour block quilt we posted earlier this month.
From our experience, babies are more interested in mobiles that contain a combination of bold shapes and colours. Therefore we choose an easy star shape and decided to work with contrasting colours on each shape that are also used in the blanket. This way the quilt and mobile match well together and the baby is stimulated by the mobile (which benefits the parents as well). Continue reading
This is a great DIY idea: dip dye simple white trainers for a cheap and original look. Read the full instructions over at Frankie magazine.
February is carnaval month and it was time to make my little girls fist costume. There are many easy DIY costumes for babies but most are only cute on kids that can already walk. I needed one for a baby that can only sit and since she will be wearing it to baby school, it needs to be comfortable enough to wear all day. Continue reading
I purchased some gold coloured fabric paint a while ago to up cycle my babies white rompers. First I wanted to stencil using freezer paper. However after visiting numerous art supply shops, I still did not find any freezer paper. Apparently I need to search for this in quilt stores. Continue reading

10th of June was father’s day in Belgium. As my boyfriend has been doing a great job since Lilly was born 6 weeks ago, he deserves a first father’s day gift. Now Lilly is still a bit to small to make something so I went and did it for her.
I used a blank romper (from Primark) and added the text I (heart) DAD in applique. See one of my previous posts for a tutorial on applique (click here). To secure the applique I roughly handstichted along the applique using embroidery thread in similar colours as tthe fabric.
Doesn’t she look great!
